    Home Support Worker

    For elderly, disabled, and recuperating clients, home support staff offer personal care and company. Care is given inside the client’s house, which could also be the home support worker’s home. Additionally, they work for individual homes, support organizations, and home care companies.

    Criteria for the Home Support Worker Pilot Program

    Candidates applying under this pilot programme must have the required professional experience as home support workers and similar NOC 4412 vocations.     • Ability to Work: Canadian officials evaluate your experience or training to see if you possess the skills necessary to perform the duties outlined in the job description.
    • Medical examination: A doctor must perform a medical examination on your country’s approved panel.
    • For every country you have resided in for six months or more, you must obtain a police clearance.

    Home Child Care Provider

    To be eligible for this trial, an applicant must have worked full-time as a home childcare provider for at least 30 hours per week in a paid capacity and have the necessary work experience in the required occupation as defined by the National Occupational Classification (NOC). The candidate must:

    • Candidates must have prior experience caring for young children at home, whether in their own residence, the residence of the employee the child, or both.

    Obtaining a Permanent Resident Permit as a Caregiver

    With a valid temporary resident status, the aforementioned carers may continue their employment in Canada. To live and work in Canada, however, you must apply to renew your permit or have its terms changed before it expires.

    If you have “maintained status” (also known as “implied status“), you can apply for a new work permit without having to wait for your old one to expire and keep the same restrictions.

    The Pilot Program for Home Support Workers (HSWPP)

    Candidates may apply under this programme for permanent residence, but they are required to have at least two years of work history gained while employed in Canada under the HSWPP work permit.

    Alternatively, your initial HSWPP work permit should be approved, and your LMIA will confirm this.

    You can use the HSWPP to apply for permanent residence once you’ve satisfied the work experience requirements. The prerequisites are as follows:

    • You must demonstrate that you have held a live-in job for 24 consecutive months.
    • You must demonstrate that you have 3,900 permitted full-time hours of work that can be finished in no more than 22 months. You can factor in your overtime hours when figuring out how many hours you worked.
    • You must provide evidence that your employment experience was acquired no more than four years after arriving in Canada.

    Candidates will be granted a temporary work permit if they choose to reside and work in Canada. This work permit will:

    • You must only be allowed to work in the designated occupation and be limited to it.
    • No Labour Market Impact Assessment will be necessary (LMIA).
